For the last twenty-three years she has been working for the NHS whilst she is also holding a small private practice in North London. She is a pioneer in the field of psychosexual therapy with people with disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She specialises in working with sexual trauma, mood disorders, sexual addiction and sexual offending.

Effie is a member of the faculty Team at the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy course and at the Advance Diploma in Couple’s Therapy course at NAOS. She is an accredited member of COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists), an accredited member of ATSAC(Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction & Compulsivity) and she is registered with the UKCP(UK Council for Psychotherapy).

Effie is also a Reiki healer and a Shamanic practitioner. She is using healing as a vehicle to her spiritual development as well as an aid to her deeper understanding of people’s material and pain. Although she is not practicing healing as part of her psychotherapy, she has integrated the healing and energy work in supporting herself and the people she is working with during the therapeutic process.
